He Shaved His Head

Posted: February 20, 2008 by porter08 in Aaron

This piece of writing to me symbolizes individuality. I dont necessarily believe that “He” literally shaved his head. I believe that the author is conveying a sense of individuality through diversity. There is one thing that makes all of us unique in our own little way. Something that makes us stand out from the rest of the world. Something that makes who we are…who we are. Some may call you freaks, but who are we to judge what is normal? Who can even define normality? Sometimes our individualtity may anger somebody, but the tattoo on our shiny head is a statement of who we are.

Once upon a donkey the cat was a seeing bee. When I said no, I meant no young sir. The elephant is a potatoe. Well I went to the house of Tickle Me Elmo because there was no crutons. Well, well, well. Oops I did it again. Cheese soda fork on a poppy seed bun apart of the sea in America, but has no hair on the feet of the new SUV when she said no to 4+4=92 1/2* infinite. Why is blue green and green purple and my favorite smell ice? Because the body is in the can of tomato when it is shut wide open. Do you understand this? If you do, then your level of stuff is way deeper than the pebble stuck under your door knob. Ha Ha…Feez Dibbles in a big huge pan of grease!!!!!

Rose Petals and Ripples

Posted: February 6, 2008 by porter08 in Aaron

Sorry about the length of this entry, but please bear with me on this one…I believe it is well worth the thought.

“Someone once compared writing a poem and hoping it will change the world to dropping rose petals down a deep well, waiting to hear the splash.” I can remember living in Florida, when in the evening at sunset, there was a certain time when for a short session, the breeze would stop and there would be absolute calm and silence. The lake in my back yard would become like a mirror, and would seem like the sky and the waters were one. I remember picking up one stone and throwing it as far as I could into the lake. I remember hearing that gentle splash, and watching the ripples radiate as far as one could see in all directions. I remember thinking to myself, “Wow, the impact that one person could make in this world is like this pebble in the lake.”  The words that someone could say or write can cause ripples. Even just saying hello to someone could send shockwaves through their lives and make all the difference in their world, and in turn; our world. Contemplate the fact that these ripples never stay still, these waves are always on the move, spreading further and further out. Believe it or not, we all make ripples in our life time. We all make a difference to someone we come in contact with. Some good…and some bad, but I digress. Just remember that these ripples are always on the move, constantly moving out, and the ripples we make here will further effect someone else in the future. So be careful of the stones you throw. This leads me to my next thought. The author states “Someone once compared writing a poem and hoping it will change the world to dropping rose petals down a deep well, waiting for the splash.” Notice that the author never says that it doesn’t make a splash! In my mind, I see this as a positive thing. Though we may wait an entire lifetime to hear and see the splash, it may not happen. Our words and deeds may get lost in that deep descent through time, but eventually, it will hit it’s target…and cause the splash. Though we may not be around to witness it, we need to be careful…because inevitably… future generations will.

That Place Within

The poem “Within” tells me of a place that is inside all of us. A place that only you can find peace and happiness. Your own internal private beach. A place that cannot be perverted by the outside distractions of life. The author tells us of a place where we can put aside all problems of life and open our souls to our world. The author tells us of a place within  that is so ground moving and earth shaking that the sands shift. A place where we can sigh with relief from the world. All we have to do is walk upon the shore while the tide is high. So I ask you, if she can go there, why don’t we?

Cherry Blossoms

Search for the blossoms.

Few stay, as others fall as snow.

But you be the tree.

The Rising Sun

Posted: February 4, 2008 by porter08 in Aaron

I sit atop the Mountain,

I notice the beauty of all God’s Creation.

The still quiet of a cool, breezeless dawn.

The deafing, ear-splitting sound of nothing,

as I watch the lavender sky, peppered with maroone, gossamer

clouds dancing in the east.

I see the eastern horizon being more enlightened.

And with a massive explosion of light,

the sun shows His face.

Bringing with Him,.. life.

As like a shockwave,

a gentle, but firm reassuring breeze sweeps the land.

Leapping atop the mountains

and snaking through the valleys.

The mighty oaks come alive and tell me their stories, and secrets of the forrest,

through the creaking and the wooshing of their fingers.

I am overcome with a sense of warmth.

Knowing that I am not in control.

But the one being cared for.

Adolescence

“It will only come once, and soon the opportunities, the moments will all just be a slice of your past.” It is hard to believe, but yet it is so true that adolescence only comes once. Not just adolescence, but life in general will only come once as well. That is why we need to embrace everyday and every moment in a day, and live it like it will be our last.  Because there is no promise of tomorrow, and there is no guarantee that we will live to see the next day or even the next hour. Even the dull moments that seem to stretch to eternity and the sad moments should be cherished as well.  The mere fact that we can feel these emotions is a blessing.  So embrace every moment of our irresponsible adolescent lives, cause it will only come once and soon the opportunities, the moments, the dreams will all just be a slice of our past.

Time Somebody Told Me

Sometimes I really wonder what time really is. Is time maby just an illusion of the mind? What is the “REAL” concept of time? I wonder at times if there really is such a thing as 24 hours in a day. At times I wonder why we go by hours, minutes, seconds. I wonder if there really is 365 days in a year. Just like a circle, where does a circle start, and where does a circle end? Likewise, when does one day start and the next day end? When does one year end and a new begin? Why is it that time seems to run together? What is truly different between December 31st and January 1st? So is time just an illusion of the mind?
